Job Description

We have an opening for a Plant Maintenance Supervisor (Dieshop) for our Bowling Green, Kentucky location.  If you possess an interest and have experience as a Maintenance Supervisor check out the details below.

What will you be responsible for?

Supports development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the food safety system.
Arranges for maintenance of adequate level of supplies, materials and parts so that there will be no interruption in operations due to shortages.
Resolves technical problems encountered related to area of responsibility.
Provides and plans technical training.
Arranges for all equipment in area to be properly maintained and upgraded as needed.
Provides daily logs including daily scheduled and nonscheduled work sheets and equipment PMs.
Stays current in new technologies and applies them as applicable to the manufacturing process.
Initiates, reviews, masters, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.
Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment.  This includes correcting unsafe acts/conditions, facilitating monthly safety meetings, performing monthly safety inspections, and investigating accidents, as required.
Provides administration and supervision of the plant dieshop.

Receives verbal instructions, blueprints and work orders. Makes drawings or sketches of parts to be made or repaired.
Interprets drawings, calculates and determines indices, tapers and other dimensions to be used for part(s).
Performs layout work as required.
Selects and grinds tools, adjusting tools, speeds and feed rates for efficient machining. Machines parts to precision requirements of tolerance and finish.
Sets up and operates machine tools, lathes, grinders, mills, and hones.
Performs dismantling, fitting or assembly work required for maintenance or production equipment.
Repairs and maintains all assigned machines and equipment.

What are we looking for?

Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college degree level education or work-related experience in the can or end making process. HS Diploma/Equivalency required.
Minimum of 2 years’ job related experience
Working knowledge of the following areas:  product specifications and technology of equipment and generally accepted supervisory practices and procedures.
Working knowledge of the following areas: standard machine shop and tool and die practices; knowledge of metallurgy; nomenclature of assigned equipment.
Thorough understanding of the operating principles of all assigned equipment.
Ability to negotiate with contractors for facilities/buildings maintenance.
