* Job Summary:
* Provides continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients. First line of action is to verbally redirect the patient from engaging in risk behaviors. Summons the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance. Knowledge and supportive of patient and institutional confidentiality and related hospital policies.
* Education:
* Position requires a high school diploma or GED.
* Registration/Certification/Licensure:
* None
* Experience:
* General knowledge of hospital setting. High School graduate/GED
* Other Requirements:
* Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
* Capable of continuous monitoring up to 10 patients on one screen at one time and remaining alert at all times while on duty.
* Ability to communicate effectively with patients using a microphone and headset.
* Ability to communicate with hospital staff and respond quickly to patient behavioral changes.
* Ability to use discretion and courtesy when working with patients, visitors and staff.
* Basic computer operations skills
* Basic Microsoft Windows experience
* Efficiency in multitasking
* Ability to prioritize simultaneous situations

The history of CalvertHealth began in a two-story, frame building in 1919. Over time, as the county grew, so did the hospital – upgrading technology, improving facilities and expanding services. More recent advances, like the state-of-the art diagnostic imaging and the new, integrated information system completed in 2016, make it possible to provide even better care for you. In the fall of 2016, our Mobile Health Center took its first trip – traveling to underserved areas of our county – to bring local residents essential primary care and preventive services.
