Description

Position Summary:

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for organizing the logistics for Denali and Glacier Bay internal and external deliveries. Responsible for the hiring, coaching/counseling and training all employees in the warehouse to adhere to policies and procedures that apply to the operation in conjunction with the Purchasing Manager. The supervisor prepares the schedule for all employees in the warehouse and ensures compliance of all applicable federal, state and local wage & hour guidelines.

Essential Functions:

* Coordinates external deliveries to the Purchasing Department and other areas to ensure the smooth, timely flow of product within the properties.
* Develops an internal schedule for deliveries to the various food and beverage, housekeeping and other areas based on the needs of the department and the most efficient times.
* Schedule the garbage and recycling pick-ups throughout Aramark properties and all other properties we service.
* Schedule the delivery of garbage to the Healy dump and recycling to the Anchorage recycling center.
* Schedule the most efficient rout for pick-ups in Anchorage, knowing the piece count, and scheduling alternate deliveries if needed.
* Research best price and shipping rates to maximize profitability.
* Manage the training and development of all drivers in conjunction with the Purchasing Manager.
* Coach, counsel and conduct disciplinary sessions as needed in conjunction with the Purchasing Manager.
* Schedules appropriate maintenance for the vehicles with the bus barn.
* Maintains DOT files for DOT drivers.
* Other duties as assigned
* Know and comply with all company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, emergencies and energy
* Report to work on time and in complete uniform



Status and Scope:

Reports to Purchasing Manager

Qualifications

Qualifications:

* Must be fluent in English.
* Previous supervisory experience preferred. .
* Hand truck, pallet jack, Polaris cart.
* Must have a valid DOT compliant driver qualification file with ARAMARK.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Attention to detail.
* CPR/First Aid Certified (or willing to be trained) preferred

Golf Cart, Calculator, Computer, Photocopier, Telephone, Fax, Pallet Jack, Hand Truck

Travel Requirements: Little or No Travel (>10%)

Lifting Requirements:

LIGHT - Lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 10 pounds
