DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking a Senior Business Development Leader to join its AWS State and Local Government team. In this role you will be responsible for shaping, developing, and managing some of our most complex and strategic customer initiatives. This includes working with senior sales leadership and our customer C-Suite to develop transformational roadmaps and multi-year plans to help our customers solve their most pressing business challenges by innovating through the adoption of cloud services and change management efforts.

This role will be highly visible at the most senior levels of the State and Local Government and K-12 business. The primary objective is to identify, shape, and execute long term strategic partnerships with our customers. To accomplish this, you will collaborate with internal leadership and our customers, working backwards from our customers' challenges to shape multi-year customer journey roadmaps with AWS. You will need to understand current trends around innovation, how to effectively apply change management strategies and drive the modernization strategy for our customers. You will dive deep and provide thoughtful analysis and strategies, but are adaptable and action-oriented, focused on quickly gaining enough context to enable informed recommendations and solutions.

We are seeking an innovative, analytical, and strategic thinker who is passionate about solving our customers most difficult problems. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex problems, works effectively with senior cross-functional teams and thrives in a fast-paced setting, and is ideally from management consulting having served the C-Suite level in either the public or the private sector.

Position can be based out of the Southeast, to include, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years of management consulting experience serving private or public sector C-Suite.
10+ years of experience leading enterprise strategy and change efforts and presenting to all levels of technical and non-technical leadership internally and to external stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience leading enterprise transformational engagements in revenue generation, operations, people management, and cost optimization with deep understanding of market transitions, industry trends, and innovative technology services.

Excellent stakeholder management skills to ensure alignment and buy-in across the organization
Continuously challenging the status quo
Deep understanding of various partnership models and implications on structuring trade-offs
Thought leader with a solid understanding of multiple industries and their intersection with government
Excellent oral and written skills to communicate complex issues and influence others internally and externally.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to gain respect of senior management and external executives.
