DESCRIPTION
At Amazon, we are working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. One customer experience that we are constantly looking to take to a new level is how we fulfill and deliver orders to the customer's doorstep. Our goal is to exceed the expectations of all our customers by ensuring that their orders (no matter how large or small) are delivered where and when they need them, as quickly, accurately and cost effectively as possible. To meet this goal, Amazon is continually striving to innovate and provide best-in-class delivery experiences through the introduction of pioneering new products. The Last Mile initiative is a highly visible program (internally and with our customers). Come join our team and help us make history!
The Global Fleet and Products (GFP) teams mission is to provide the vehicles and services that enable Amazon to delight customers with our last mile operations. GFP is on track to purchase 100,000 electric vehicles (EVs) by 2030 as part of Amazons Climate Pledge. To deliver on these EV targets, we are looking for a Sr. Program Manager to lead the Last Mile Electrification Program that focuses on the critical path capabilities, product features, operational tools and mechanisms required to successfully transition to an electric fleet.
This role on the GFP team is responsible for managing the tactical and strategic aspects of highly technical and complex initiatives, defining program execution scope, milestones and timelines, developing metrics to track and report on progress made, and working across global teams to enable the deployments of EVs in Amazons Last Mile delivery fleet. This role is inherently cross-functional and requires working closely with engineering design, construction, operations, project management, finance, legal and business development teams to bring products to launch, develop and grow business opportunities, and enhance our existing products and features.
A successful candidate will be an exceptional communicator (written and verbal), highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused, team oriented, and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-visibility strategic initiatives, but can also establish trust, eliminate non-value-add activity, roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. You will take end-to-end ownership of large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, and deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. Maturity, high judgment, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
Responsibilities:
Manage remote project delivery teams, facilitate technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot implementation issues, and remove barriers to project success.
Generate buy-in for the program vision with leadership and partner teams
Lead program execution, and coordinate project activities across various teams
Translate customer experiences into clear program requirements and execution strategy, perform supporting research and analysis, prioritize initiatives, and drive the end-to-end program schedule
Work closely with internal teams to re-define business processes and deliver disruptive technology solutions, and external partners like vendors, consultants and contractors
Retrieve and analyze data, and establish key business metrics to measure product success.
Develop key program messages and communication strategies for the product line (release notes, product demonstrations, and improvement reports), and coordinate release plans for internal teams.
Successful candidates will be excellent communicators, highly motivated, have a customer focus, a diverse work experience, and a business curiosity/strategic viewpoint, and are effective within distributed teams.
