DESCRIPTION

The Principal, Customer Research will be an integral part of the customer research team, and will design, execute and deliver primary research to AWS product and marketing teams. This position is full-time, based in Seattle.

This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities as well as outstanding project management skills. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, with strong attention to detail, capable of diving deep and working on every aspect of the project and the ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. He/She recognizes that the true measure of a projects success is based on the business impact of the findings and will take a consultative approach to help internal customers achieve their goals. The keys to success in this role include exceptional study design, analytics, and communication skills. The candidate will need to be able to extract insights from data and be able to clearly communicate implications and recommendations.

Position may be located in Seattle, or near any Amazon/AWS U.S. Corp office only. Relocation offered from within the US only to these locations.

Key Responsibilities:
Managing research requests and projects from product and marketing teams
Determining the most appropriate research methodology and techniques and developing research plans, costs and timelines
Build strong working relationships across teams to align teams on study design, keep stakeholders informed of study progress, and ensure key milestones and deliverables are completed on schedule.
Executing research studies, including design of study materials, programming of online surveys, moderating qualitative discussions and running cross tabulations and banner reports
Interpreting data, writing reports, and making recommendations that inform key decisions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years of quantitative and qualitative market research and analytics experience in a technology company
Bachelors or advanced degree in business, mathematics, or the sciences
Experience with a wide array of product, brand, advertising and customer satisfaction research methodologies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Collaborative interpersonal leadership style and a strong relationship builder.
Proven track record of using research and insights to influence executives and colleagues, with a track record of driving insights into action that influence marketing programs and products.
Experience directing research agencies to deliver innovative research, as well as a love of conducting scrappy hands-on research.
A hands-on approach to research and willingness to perform all aspects of the research process, from programming surveys to building tables.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $96,700 - 160,000/ yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
