DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Senior Product Manager who will create solutions to optimize Transportation networks across Amazons global network. Our scope includes all emerging countries and regions including but not limited to Australia, China, Middle East and North Africa, Brazil,Singapore and Mexico. As a team player, you have an opportunity to work with some of the best software engineers, technical program managers, project managers, finance partners, and business leaders across the company to design the optimal transportation network which solves capacity requirement and provides the best customer experience in the most cost efficient way.
This role requires working with cross-functional business teams across the company to jointly define requirements, develop solutions, and manage the timelines for all current and future transportation project launches. This position involves regular communication with senior management on status, risks/opportunities and daily change control management. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive interaction skills are essential.
This position requires superior analytical thinkers, ability to understand complex data, diving deep through various information sources and working closely with other engineers and program managers to rapidly iterate and deliver solutions. This position also requires to work across a variety of teams, including but not limited to Transportation, Operations, Demand Forecast, S&OP, Finance, Category, Delivery Experience, Design Engineering, Safety/EHS and Leadership across countries. Successful candidates must thrive in fast-paced environments which encourage collaborative and creative problem solving and data analysis across various data marts.
Position requires the ability to travel internationally up to 30%
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree
5+ years of Product / technical program management
3+ years of work experience managing cross-functional programs, including external and internal stakeholders
Intermediate knowledge of basic data analysis tools such as Excel, Tableau, SQL
3+ years of work experience with Transportation Management concepts i.e. forecasting, planning, operations, optimization, continues improvement and logistics
3+ years experience driving metrics with direct customer impact
3+ years experience in a large scale rapid and process driven environment must have end to end process management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Research, MBA or related field
Goal driven, target orientated, able to step back and look at the bigger picture (helicopter view), the person will also be able to manage ambiguity with their sleeves rolled up, and possess a preparedness to get involved
Multi-country work-experience with fluency in multiple languages
Experience of lean manufacturing techniques/six sigma
Must be technically credible to influence teams of world-class software owners and be able to make the right design decisions and technology choices
Experience of managing 3rd party contract resource arrangements on a large/national scale
Proven ability to improve metrics directly impacting the customer
Excellent ability to develop written communication
