DESCRIPTION
As a Sr. Technical Writer on the AWS Architecture Content team, you will work within a stellar team of technical writers and content strategists to ensure our architecture content is relevant, accurate, easy to find, and fresh. In this role, you will collaborate with field experts to develop content, including tutorials, case studies, whitepapers, reference architecture diagrams, and other technical guides. At times, you will be editing content contributed by a field expert. Other times, you will help them write the content. This content is ultimately promoted within the AWS Architecture Center to help our customers make the right decisions early in their application design projects.

Your technical background enables you to interact effectively with Solutions Architects and other technical roles.
Key Responsibilities
Work with field subject matter experts to develop a variety of technical content types, including reference architecture diagrams, whitepapers, compliance content, and more. Content development tasks span editing, writing, and publishing.
Use AWS to test tutorials and other content as needed.
Optimize content for search engines.
Manage content using XML authoring tools, Word, and sometimes Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
Help define efficient processes that streamline the way we work.
Collaborate with team members to derive insights from data, and recommend content changes as needed.
Optimize the online content you develop for search engines
Apply and contribute to editorial style guides as needed in support of our different publishing mediums and channels.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
At least seven years of experience as a technical writer or technical editor in the software field.
At least two years of experience authoring technical content using a markup language, such XML.
Exceptional writing, editing, collaboration, and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment
Experience optimizing content to increase organic traffic.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High-level understanding of cloud computing, IT infrastructure, and different programming languages.
Experience working in a CMS platform; Adobe AEM a plus.
Experience using web analytics to measure content performance and identify actionable insights.
Experience working successfully in teams and helping others in your team succeed.
Bachelor's degree in English, technical writing, or related field, or comparable job experience Demonstrate project management experience
