AWS Finance seeks a world-class Senior Finance Manager to be a key member in its team supporting the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) business. This position will partner with the business on EC2 Fleet Optimization initiatives, including managing the fleet retirement and unsellable capacity reduction programs. As a Senior Finance Manager, you will work side by side with business and finance leaders to develop strategy, financial models, and analytical insights. This position partners closely with Finance management across organizations, as well as key business partners, including Fleet Management, Product Management, Engineering, Capacity Management, Data Center Operations, Supply Chain, and other AWS products to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership.

This role requires a self-starter and independent individual with strong communication and business partnering skills, financial modeling abilities, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations. This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong people skills.

Primary responsibilities include:
Serve as the key finance partner working directly with AWS senior management and other internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations
Lead short and long term strategic planning
Understand hardware generational changes and general business economics to lead development of financial models
Taking the lead in managing costs, building complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance
Develop new reporting on financial performance and lead in the preparation of biweekly and monthly financial reviews, identifying financial risks and opportunities
Own and drive projects during planning and forecasting cycles
Develop ad hoc business analysis and present recommendations to AWS senior management
The successful candidate will have shown experiences in past roles influencing business owners and supporting decision-making in rapidly evolving environments. This role requires a finance leader with long term vision, a keen attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects effectively. This role has close interaction with executives and various business units across Amazon and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, this role requires strong business sense and capability to independently drive business partnership.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

BA/BS degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field
Minimum 10 years of finance experience, or masters degree and 8 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

An MBA or MS in Finance, Economics, or a related field
Demonstrated ability to work independently and self-motivate in a fast paced and rapidly-changing environment
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload
Demonstrated ability to influence decisions through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning and the presentation of alternatives
Exceptional business judgment capable of driving a diverse organization to the right results with a focused, pragmatic approach
Analytical, financial modeling, and reporting skills required
