Job Description

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Manager, Digital Capital. This individual directs and drives execution of the firm’s group and unit-specific data and digital initiatives including big data collection, data integration, data repositories, and leveraging data as an asset through reporting, analytics, and digital capital. Implements the firm’s vision for analytics, data, and artificial intelligence (AI) to support key business initiatives.
• Develops and maintains consultative relationships with key business stakeholders including senior executives. Proactively identifies and proposes initiatives that will improve business efficiency and drive strategy by leveraging data technologies.
• Directs teams conducting statistical analyses, analytics and reporting, artificial intelligence, machine learning and other related mechanisms to inform and recommend business actions and strategies internally and with clients. Facilitates stakeholder input to prioritize major data initiatives and communicates status to management inside and outside of business technology (BT) including executive management.
• Directs teams defining data policies and practices, data collection, data integrity, data governance, data reporting approach and consistency or data quality control. Communicates policies, practices, and strategy. Responsible for ensuring consistent application of policies and practices.
• Oversees the integration and architecture of disparate sources of data or reporting and presentation of that data. Guides Master Data Management including data stewardship and single source of truth (i.e., the unique source of a piece of data).
• Identifies conflicting needs and requirements. Facilitates discussion and best approaches given budget, schedule, and regulatory constraints.
• Manages day-to-day activity of staff. Provides feedback on performance appraisals. Manages the development and training of staff. Approves paid time off requests (PTO) and ensures human resources policies are followed.
• Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• 12 years of related experience with at least 4 of those years in a management or leadership capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related discipline.

Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

• Advanced ability to lead teams who develop tools for user self-service of data sourcing and exploration. Expert written, oral, and presentation skills.
• Advanced ability to handle multiple simultaneous assignments.
• Demonstrates a high level of integrity, with an uncompromising commitment to quality.
• Advanced ability to influence senior executive stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the following consulting industry measures: Utilization, Project Profit, Mark Ups, and Allocations.
• Advanced project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with an Engineering Construction firm.
