Job Description:
Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary. Within parameters, determines routing and arrangements for shipments, considering such factors as nature of items being shipped, method of handling, size, urgency, and cost. Consults rate schedule for specific rates depending on method of shipment and/or distance shipped. Assesses most economical and efficient common or contract carrier, to transport shipments. Calculates and records storage, redelivery, and other applicable charges. May reroute urgent shipments of an urgent nature or arrange for special delivery at destination. Prepares and maintains records of products shipped and tracks shipments. Receives incoming materials, unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications. Maintains records of received goods, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents. Stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. Lifts heavy items and may operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, tow motors, forklifts, etc. upon receipt of internal certification. Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements. May perform wood shop functions such as operating power saws and nail guns in building skids and crates.
Essential Functions:
* Visit equipment calibration racks for each lab in assigned buildings--transport equipment to calibration Lab.
* Arrange equipment replacements for items with calibration coming due
* Work with Lab Managers and Engineers to locate missing equipment. Research SAP use and RFID records to locate missing equipment and return to Cal Lab
* Provide replacement cables, adapters, fittings, and consumables to labs
* Pull Cal Due data from SAP
* Append Logistics group Cal Due report, update as Equipment is swapped.
* As requested - conduct ad hoc audits of lab Cal, ESD, and FOD compliance
Qualifications:
* Requires a Highs School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associate Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
* Detailed understanding of electronic test equipment (from multi-meters to signal generators) associated cables, adapters, and fittings
* Knowledge of lab structure, equipment setup, location, limits, products tested, and associated personnel. Ability to query SAP for equipment location, type, calibration, and use data
* Security clearance desired
