SENIOR ENGINEER (MECHANICAL)
JOB LOCATION (SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN LEAR EAST CAMPUS/WORLD HEADQUARTERS)
As a member of the Electrification team, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for leading the design engineering activity for assigned program(s) to ensure that products meet customer and Company specifications. Provides engineering direction including styling and engineering changes as well as production tooling and process-related issues. Individual is required to possess a product design knowledge in providing input on design direction and changes affecting the product.
The Role:
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
* Provide Engineering support during all phases of a project. (Adherence to Lears Process & Procedures)
* Ability to work in a highly productive and constantly changing environment.
* Provide detailed technical assessments and activity status reports to management.
* Customer interface on program requirements and activity status.
The Hour by Hour Task Breakdown with percentages:
* Provide design engineering activity for assigned program(s) (60%)
* Customer interface (15%)
* Management Reports (5%)
* Technical design reviews and Brainstorming sessions (20%)
Your Qualifications:
* BSME, Equivalent technical degree or equivalent experience
* 5+ years of product design experience.
* Knowledge and understanding of GD&T and able to do dimensional stack-up analysis.
* Experience in Packaging of High-Power components for Electric Vehicles.
* Strong knowledge of DFMEA process.
Bonus If You Have:
* 3D CAD experience (Catia, NX, SolidWorks)
* CAD simulation / FEA studies
* Plastic Design and processing experience.
