Manufacturing Controls Technologist
Location: St. Thomas, ON
Come build the future with us! We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Controls Technologist who will be responsible for the development and commissioning of automation projects within manufacturing from initial concept to installation.
What you will bring:
* At least 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred
* Bachelor' degree in Electrical Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering Technician diploma or Equivalent
* Work related project management experience
* Microsoft Office experience required
* Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams
* Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
* Advanced PLC knowledge and programming required
* Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics would be an asset
* Ability to read and create electrical drawings
* CAD and modelling experience required
What you will do:
* Design of mechanical and electrical systems using components specified by the customer. (Inventor & AutoCAD)
* Oversee all aspects of the Projects

* Startup and Signoff
* Evaluate manufacturing processes through investigation of issues; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly
* Maintain all automated systems including robots, CNC, conveyor, etc.
* Evaluate manufacturing processes through investigations of issues; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
* Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors. Direct and coordinate electrical planning and implementation ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, and work order requirements
* PLC, Robot and CNC programming or editing the existing programs as per production request.
* Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
* Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
* Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
* Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
