We are seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Principal Scientist with expertise in neuropsychiatric disorders to join our Neuroscience group at our Company West Point Site. This exciting role will allow a talented scientist to work closely with colleagues from numerous functional areas (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Genetics/Genomics, DMPK, Safety, Commercial, Clinical, Medical affairs, etc.) and lead projects through multiple stages of preclinical and clinical development. The successful candidate should have in-depth knowledge and subject matter expertise in neuroscience drug discovery, particularly in the area of neuropsychiatric disorders. The primary responsibilities include leading a team of laboratory scientists as well as guiding project teams to advance drug discovery programs from target validation through candidate selection and clinical proof of concept studies. In this role, the candidate will be expected to not only work with internal teams but also accelerate drug discovery programs through effective collaboration with key stakeholders outside our Company, such as biotech companies, academic collaborators, and CROs.

Education Minimum Requirements:

* PhD with at least 8 years of experience in neuroscience and neuropsychiatric disorders, preferably in industry.

Required Experience and Skills:

* Strong track record of scientific accomplishment in the field of neuroscience evidenced by publications in high quality peer reviewed scientific journals

* In-depth knowledge in neuroscience drug discovery, especially in the field of neuropsychiatric disorders

* Demonstrated by track record of advancing multiple drug discovery programs from target validation through clinical candidate selection and supporting early clinical development

* Highly effective collaborator with both internal teams and external partners (e.g. CROs, academic investigators, and biotech companies)

* Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a recognized ability to positively influence team decision

Preferred Experience and Skills:

* Demonstrate proficiency in both Neuroscience and Genomics

* Experience with the state-of-the-art technologies e.g. scOmics, CRISPR/Cas9, siRNA, and iPSCderived cellular system

* Experience with different drug modalities such as small molecule, biologics, and gene therapy
