We work in the local plant connected to our global manufacturing network to ensure the highest quality of raw materials, intermediates and finished products.

At our company Manufacturing facility in Elkton, Virginia, we currently have an Associate Specialist Manufacturing Automation Engineer position available. The successful candidate is primarily responsible for Manufacturing Execution System (MES) engineering support related to DeltaV and associated interfaces. The MES Engineer will be a part of the automation team and will work closely with the operations and supply chain teams to deliver and support MES solutions at the Elkton site. They will also have the opportunity to apply their enthusiasm and technical skills working on various projects as a member of a multidisciplinary team, including Lifecycle Management Upgrades of a variety of shop floor automation systems.

Job details may include but are not limited to:

* Assist with MES integration with automation systems, primarily DeltaV, by participating on the site MES implementation team working with supply chain, operations, IT, technical operations and other functions and team members
* Assist with various projects to upgrade shop floor automation systems such as DeltaV, Allen Bradley PLCs and Panel Views, and in-process diagnostic systems
* Application of sound project management techniques to meet schedule, budget, benefit realization and other project objectives.
* Review and promote the configuration and architecture of the automation systems to ensure the successful integration of process control systems, manufacturing execution systems, shop floor equipment, and data historians.
* Promote the various stages of the project work such as requirements definition, code development, design reviews, factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, commissioning and qualification, and process validation.
* Directly sponsor operations by troubleshooting and issue resolution with respect to the MES system and interfaces.
* Requires working in an industrial manufacturing environment including gowning.
* Coordinates meetings ensuring attendees availability where necessary, generates agenda and minutes
* Develop and provide training for automation and operation personnel on the integration of the MES systems with the process control systems
* Sponsor complex investigations using MES to help identify root cause
* Providing direct assistance for regulatory inspections and audits and other validation activities by serving as the subject matter expert

Education:

Bachelors Degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or similar field

Experiences:

* Process Automation and/or MES systems
* Lifecycle Management programs
* Demonstrate ability to build relationships with team and peers within the automation group and across multiple site teams
* Demonstrate direction in achieving shared objectives
* Travel: 10% of the time

Preferred skills:

* GMP manufacturing automation related role
* Werum PAS/X
* DeltaV, Allen Bradley PLC, OSISoft PI historian, Infobatch

Working Relationships: Reports to the Associate Director Manufacturing Automation

* Interacts with employees within own department, business stakeholders, and enterprise support personnel
* Interacts with representatives from regulatory agencies and external suppliers
