Are you ready to craft the next generation of storage hardware? As the industry leader in innovation, we are turning heads! We are seeking a self-motivated and collaborative, board design engineer to develop Microns next generation Solid State Drive (SSD) products. As SSD Designers, we bring to bear our experience in hardware architecture, and high-speed digital design. We display a solid understanding of PCIe Gen 4&5, ONFI and implementation techniques required for high-speed interfaces.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Interface in multi-functional teams to ensure the design meets all firmware and system level requirements
* Participate in architecture definition, design reviews, requirements generation of SSD products
* Perform basic Signal and power integrity measurements
* Document and communicate results with multi-functional counterparts.
* Simulate and analyze design proposals, review results and provide recommendations on optimal design practices to other design engineers
* Experienced in crafting hardware for large scale manufacture, including DFx and low-cost considerations
* Hardware design, worst-case analysis, simulations, capture schematic, de-rating and assumes complete ownership of the SSD hardware thru the product lifecycle
* PCB back-end process: defining stack-up and via technologies, part placement, setting design constraints, signal integrity and power integrity analysis
* Works proactively with multi-functional team members during design, verification as well as on RMAs
* In addition to design, a successful candidate will mentor and provide technical guidance to other hardware team members

Critical Skills

* Self-motivated. Desire to take on challenges. Result-driven and details oriented
* Strong interpersonal skills are a must.
* Strong in transmission line fundamentals. Understand the fundamentals of time-domain vs. frequency-domain
* Good PCB design experience on high speed signals routing guideline and review, power copper routing and review, design for EMI/ESD protection.
* Design for signal integrity and power
* Analog design using simulation e.g. SPICE (or equivalent)
* Experience in test automation is a plus
* Practical lab SI analysis experience for measuring high-bandwidth signals (20-35 GHz)
* Familiarity with PCIe Compliance equipment and measurement techniques
* Design with schematic capture and design constraints utilizing Cadence PCB design tools (Cadence Sigrity, Allegro Power-Aware SI)

Qualification Requirements

* BS in Electrical Engineering required; MS in Electrical Engineering is preferred
* 5 - 7+ years of relevant design experience
* Able to lead a project with a small team to completion
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Excellent problem-solving skills
