As the Sr. Director of CAD Engineering, you will join a leadership team chartered with designing products that leverage Microns industry-leading position in NAND and DRAM memory technologies. Micron products span the spectrum from full custom NAND and DRAM memory designs to ASIC controllers and system-level memory solutions. Micron is expanding quickly in various segments of the Solid State Drive market, managed NAND solutions for mobile applications, and other emerging memory and system-level solutions. The Central CAD Engineering team consists of 100+ dedicated team members at nine (9) sites worldwide. It provides all needed EDA solutions for Microns leading-edge semiconductor design and development roadmaps.
This role resides in the Central Engineering organization and will require close communication and collaboration with the Design Engineering leadership teams across all technologies on needed tools and capabilities. It will also require partnering with the Technology Development team on needed Design Kit collateral development for proprietary industry-leading Micron-developed process technologies. EDA vendor relationships and tool evaluations, qualifications, and licensing are also essential in teaming with Procurement and Engineering IT teams. Below is a list of qualifications and experience ideal candidates will possess.
Qualifications:
* Knowledge and experience in ultra large scale full custom transistor-level VLSI design, implementation, and verification
* Knowledge of Design Kits and collateral development, including CMOS models, DRC rules, LVS device descriptions, reliability rules, etc
* Knowledge and proven ability to communicate intricate ASIC design and verification methodologies, including integration of 3rd party IP
* Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organizational skills and ability to lead a team with locations around the world
* Experienced in coordinating and efficiently facilitating meetings and project teams
* Advanced understanding of licensing utilization strategies and standardized design environments, including foundry PDK integration
* Understanding of database management methods and version control techniques
* Knowledge of software development techniques needed for leading development of value-adding solutions
* Knowledge of Design Verification test benches and coverage, and analog simulation tools and methods
* Knowledge of digital implementation tools and flows, including logic synthesis and timing driven automated place and route
Education and experience:
* Required: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
* Preferred: eight (8) or more years of experience in System on Chip ASIC Design Engineering, Design Verification or CAD operations
