Department Overview

The SOC Manager provides leadership and mentorship to a team of security analysts delivering best in class security monitoring for our customers as part of Motorola Solutions Cyber Security operations.
The SOC Manager is responsible for day to day operations of the SOC including establishing and measuring team performance, customer satisfaction and serves as a technical escalation point. The SOC manager develops, maintains, and implements relevant policies and procedures to protect the security and privacy of information from intentional or unintentional damage. They assist in trouble-shooting security concerns and provide regular status updates of system security.

Job Description

* Manage Operations to ensure successful delivery of Motorolas cyber security expertise to the customer.

* Be a technical and thought leader driving automation, analytics, and operational efficiencies.

* Promote innovation and forward thinking throughout the organization.

* Lead monthly service reviews and other forums to ensure that operational services and issues are managed successfully

* Own operational issues including incident reports and follow up action items from system incidents, both internally and externally

* Establish relationships with stakeholders and maintain positive relationships

* Able to be hands on with security investigations and incident response.

* Be leader in the growth of the SOC and drive integration of new products.

* Adhere to Motorola policies and practices

* Manage subcontractor deliverables and adherence to agreed scope and services

* Ensure all operational documentation and procedures remain up to date and relevant.

* Comply with our ISO 9001 requirements to achieve certification

* Demonstrated understanding of Information Security, operating systems, application level, and networking core concepts

* Demonstrated technical knowledge of modern network security, network hardware, protocols, and standards

* Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues

* Previous management and leadership experience

* 10+ years of technical experience with 3+ years directly managing a Security Operations Center in a leadership capacity

* In-depth familiarity with security policies based on industry standards and best practices

* Knowledge of SIEM technologies, like Splunk or ArcSight

* Ability to lead and communicate effectively within a team environment

* Professional certifications such as SANS GIAC/GCIH

* ITIL Foundation Certification or Experienced with ITIL .
* Incident management process development and/or incident management experience.

* SOC automation development and cloud operations (e. g. AWS) experience.

* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft and/or Linux based operating systems and internal functions.

* Must be a US Citizen due to certain contracts.
