Job requirements:

* Ability to understand and apply fundamental Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing
* Must be able to create 3D models of designs and create 2D drawings to acceptable drafting practices
* Familiarity with manufacturing and assembly processes
* Ability to design new product components and assemblies as well as revise existing products
* Prepare detailed sketches and layouts of new products
* Generate Bills of Materials and Engineering Change Notices
* Perform other duties as required by Engineering management
* Provide support on mechanical equipment
* Work with operation to identify product improvements
* Comply with all NOV company and HSE policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

* Proficient in AutoCAD.
* Proficient in Solidworks or Creo (ProE).
* 10-15 years of design experience in a heavy equipment or manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of Engineering standards and procedures
* Ability to process multiple types of information and/or perform multiple tasks simultaneously
* Ability to define, diagnose, and resolve problems and the ability to make decisions in a timely manner
* Excellent technical communication skills including proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Excellent written as well as verbal communication skills
* Self-directed and highly motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision
* Ability to interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others as a team
* Demonstrated commitment to quality and professionalism
* Ability to perform basic level engineering calculations such as estimation of areas, volumes, and weights
* Ability to interpret and apply technical specifications

Preferred Qualifications:

* Associate's degree or technical certificate, or equivalent experience
* Experience using both Solidworks or Creo (ProE)
* Basic knowledge of Inventor
* Experience using Teamcenter software
* Hands-on approach to problem solving and design
* Knowledge of and experience working in and around an ISO and Q1 Certified manufacturing plant and machine shop
* Has design experience with drilling and hoisting products
