Who youll work with
The Core Activity Team leads digital product design for Nikes activity experiences today consisting of NRC, NTC and Adapt apps defining how athletes engage with tracking, motivation, coaching and guidance, and powering a deeper consumer connection with Nike. As a key member of this team, youll report into the Operations Director of Activity within Nike Digital Product Design.
What your responsibilities will be
* Being responsible for an entire team's remit and working on large projects that encompass multiple broad/undefined layers of complexity
* Aligning the teams efforts across 30 different products/platforms to match company priorities
* Leading cross-functional alignment and influencing the design process
* Working on projects of moderate to high complexity and running multiple concurrent workstreams
* Negotiating priorities across product partners when design capacity is maxed out
* Facilitating roadmap discussions and alignment with product, engineering and program partners
* Working with the Design Director on resourcing strategy and backlog management
* Defining onboarding plans for designers who are ramping up on new products/platforms
* Inspiring/driving the design team to transform a product or initiative
* Facilitating and leading brainstorms/workshops
* Capturing and articulating the POV of the team, communicating the vision for the work and the team
* Working with digital product to ensure requirements and scoping are defined prior to project kickoffs
* Orchestrating user groups for feedback and testing
* Crafting staged project plans for complex efforts and setting up checkpoints with the Design Director and other relevant stakeholders
* Proactively determining when and how to involve cross-functional partners (eng, PM, research, data, etc)
* Ensuring design team delivers some of the most thought-out and polished end-to-end design solutions at Nike
* Managing team health and reporting (including ROI of work)
* Organizing team logistics around ways of working (e.g. meeting cadence, review frameworks and processes)
* Working with design leaders to identify and prioritize cross-functional, high-value opportunities and potential constraints
What you bring to Nike
* 6+ years of solid experience leading creative teams through the design process at a digital product company, digital agency or tech start-up
* A bachelors degree in marketing, organizational communications, advertising or related field is preferred, but not required
* Passion for the Nike brand, the world of sport, and thought leadership in design that elevates the work
* A solid understanding of sizing, project and resource planning and management, forecasting, and estimating
* Strong presentation skills you can hold the attention of a room
* Forward-thinking and conceptual thinking, seeing possibilities where others cant
* Deep experience in motivating and driving a creative culture to deliver best-in-class, award-winning work
* A strong design process contributes new processes or enhancements to cross-functional teams
* Ability to see around corners to intercept problems before they happen
* Exceptional time management skills and ability to create accurate estimations, often helping the team to deliver early
* Comfortable with being uncomfortable, thoughtful about taking risks
* Ability to drive collaboration and communication within a complex group, and cross-functionally within an organization
* Experience overseeing technology solutions that power consumer touchpoints at scale, such as planning tools, content management systems, targeted marketing tools, and asset management solutions
* Deep experience with the latest project management tools like Asana as well as collaboration tools like Box, Google Suite, Figma and Keynote
* Deep experience in the agile methodology of project management and the ability to run a sprint
