The Director Product Management for Supply Chain (Warehouse Operations) is a key member of the Nordstrom Product Management team, championing the strategy and roadmap planning for the Supply Chain and Fulfillment capabilities that support the entire Nordstrom lines of business. Product Management is responsible for making sure we build the right products and features for our customers and business. To accomplish that, product managers plan the product roadmap and prioritize the applicable technology backlog, lead product discovery, and measure and communicate results of the feature portfolio in production, all while ensuring stakeholder alignment. The Director in this role must have a strong background in Warehouse Management (WMS, WES, WCS), Inventory Management, Labor Management and Fulfillment Automation including experience implementing Material Handling Equipment (MHEs) in warehouses. The Director of Product Management must have a strong analytical and data driven mindset and a relentless focus on the outcomes we are driving towards. This person should have a high bar for performance and a drive to win.
A day in the life
Advanced Capability with the following competencies, requiring minimal management support:
* Develops roadmap strategy, vision, business benefits, and prioritization of goals for the websites, apps and other channel initiatives
* Ensures alignment on priorities and direction by partnering with other groups, stakeholders and leaders
* In depth experience with data driven fulfillment networks and fulfillment planning ecosystems
* Experience with launching new facilities and the capabilities needed to run a world class fulfillment center
* Partners with UX, Research, Operations, Process and Engineering on feature design
* Drives ownership of features and services throughout the product lifecycle for our cross-channel customer experiences
* Collaborates with peers and leaders across the enterprise to solicit needs, define vision and ensure outcomes align with enterprise priorities and goals
* Hires and supervises a high performance and effective team that meets the needs of the product management strategies
* Partners with technology teams to deliver key features and functionality that enhance the customer experience across Nordstrom channels
* Monitors & identifies customer needs staying current on industry standards/trends and respond by making adjustments to user experience and product roadmaps
* Maintains a strong understanding of available technologies and apply technology solutions, where appropriate, to improve efficiency and ultimately benefit the customer
You own this if you have
* 10+ years experience or equivalent with 5+ years of management experience required, specifically in product management with technology or ecommerce company preferred
* Technical background and understanding of MHEs and other warehouse Automations e.g. Good-to-Person, ASRS, Packaging Automation etc.
* Proven track record of implementing W*S (WMS/WEC/WCS) solutions at scale, preferably in Retail/e-Commerce space
* Bachelors degree in math, statistics, finance, economics, industrial engineering or related quantitative discipline is preferred
* Ability to inspire others, including demonstrated experience managing and leading strong teams
* Ability to define, measure and analyze processes to identify improvement opportunities
* Technical background and understanding of software development principals and a/b testing
* Ability to build relationships cross-functionally with multiple teams from areas such as Analytics, Engineering and User Experience
* Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
