An Engineer 2 is part of a key team of Nordstrom Technology professionals that applies scientific, mathematical and social principles to design, build, and maintain technology products, devices, systems and solutions. These technology products and solutions provide amazing customer experiences while meeting the needs of the business. The scope, responsibility and accountability at this level supports infrastructure and operational components, applications, device software, services or networks with minimal supervision.

As part of the Loyalty Technology team, you will design, develop, and maintain services and applications supporting Nordstroms loyalty program. You will work on complex problems,follow the agile software development methodologies, and collaborate with partner teams to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions. As a DevOps engineer, you will own your features end to end and deliver them quickly in a fast-paced environment.

A day in the life

* Design and collaborate with local and partner teams
* Test all scenarios and conform to quality standards
* Identify performance issues; apply knowledge of security coding practices and secure system fundamentals (e.g., cross-site scripting, security certificates)
* Demonstrate thorough knowledge of information technology concepts issues, trends and best practices as they relate to the discipline/practice
* Demonstrate advanced knowledge of specific needs of a major line of business and the related set of applications, systems or functions

You own this if you have

* Bachelors or Masters degree in CS, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
* 2+ years of professional experience in software development
* 2+ years of experience in object-oriented programing like C and Java
* Experience in developing cloud-based solution in AWS is preferred
* Experience in UI development using React is preferred
* Experience in .Net and C development is preferred
* Experience in SQL, Python, and Kubernetes is preferred
* Experience in GitLab is preferred
