Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Payload Team in Reentry Systems Design. This position will be located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.

What You rsquo;ll Get To Do:

Duties will include application of technical knowledge to evaluate design and perform technical review and analysis of mechanical designs, testing and validation of those designs. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.

The successful applicant will:

bull; Understand and apply system requirements

bull; Simulate and evaluate hardware performance

bull; Perform model validation through test and analysis

bull; Assist in all phases of the system lifecycle including requirements application, design, test, fabrication, and implementation

bull; Evaluate mechanical hardware performance

bull; Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements

bull; Create technical reports and present technical information

bull; Assistance in planning and scheduling activities

bull; Interface with Air Force Customer

bull; Interface with subcontractors

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

bull;Bachelor rsquo;s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited university with 2 years of experience; 0 year with a Masters

bull;A current active US Government DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

bull; Active Top Secret Clearance

bull; ICBM or Aerospace experience

bull; Experience with 3D modeling, CAD

bull; Experience in any of the following:

* Re-entry vehicles
* Nuclear Certified Design
* ICBM Weapon Systems
* Space vehicle design
* Design and analysis of mechanical properties of materials
