The Melbourne Manned Aircraft Design (MAD) Center of Excellent (CoE) is seeking a Life Cycle Cost (LCC) engineer under systems engineering to support key program(s) in the Aeronautics Systems Sector. This position is responsible for performing LCC analysis and modeling in addition to Design to Cost (DTC), Should Cost, Cost Trades, Cost as an Independent Variable (CAIV) and Cost Reduction Initiative (CRI) analysis. This position requires experience developing complex cost models using advanced cost estimating techniques complemented with excellent interpersonal skills required to solicit input, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of leadership for actionable cost decisions. Qualification
Basic Qualifications for a LCC Engineer:
* Bachelor rsquo;s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 2 years of relevant experience OR Master rsquo;s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 0 years of relevant experience
* Demonstrated experience developing cost analysis/models, and/or cost risk analysis (CRA) for complex systems using advanced cost prediction methods and probabilistic analysis
* Demonstrated experience in performing cost estimating activities such as cost analysis, statistical analysis, WBS development and risk analysis
* The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance within a reasonable period of time as deemed appropriate by the business to meet program objectives
Basic Qualifications for a Principal LCC Enginer:
* Bachelor rsquo;s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 5 years of relevant experience OR Master rsquo;s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 3 years of relevant experience, OR a PhD in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 0 years of relevant experience
* Demonstrated experience developing cost analysis/models, and/or cost risk analysis (CRA) for complex systems using advanced cost prediction methods and probabilistic analysis
* Demonstrated experience in performing cost estimating activities such as cost analysis, statistical analysis, WBS development and risk analysis
* The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance within a reasonable period of time as deemed appropriate by the business to meet program objectives
* The ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access within a reasonable period of time as deemed appropriate by the business to meet program objectives
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working in Aviation/Aerospace programs
* Experience working with data visualization software (e.g. MS Excel including macros, Tableau, Desktop, QlikView, MS Power BI, etc). or any other data analysis software applications
* Experience with data mining/analytics programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or BA
* Experience with parametric cost tools such as PRICE Cost Analytics or SEER from Galorath
* An active, in-scope DoD Secret level clearance or above
