Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced and motivated Accountant to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at in Redondo Beach, California.

Roles and responsibilities of the Accountant will include (but not be limited to) the following:

* Reviewing contracts for relevant billing provisions and work with Contract Managers to understand necessary billing requirements.
* Analyzing and preparing invoices to US Government amp; commercial customers in accordance with contractual terms and conditions for all contract types, e.g., fixed price, cost type, T amp;M, etc.
* Analyzing and preparing invoices including cost recon, fee, funding, annual cancel funds, cost past period of performance, etc.
* Supporting audits, reviews, fact-finding, and support required by programs, customers, and management.
* Interfacing and collaborating with program personnel to support cost and billing structure setup and requirements.
* Monthly G/L account analyses, e.g., customer and IWO UBAR.
* Understanding and applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
* Understanding of aerospace accounting.

This position rsquo;s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor rsquo;s or Master rsquo;s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Economics from an accredited institution.
* 3+ years of professional experience in business management, finance, accounting, or related fields.
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite - specifically high level Excel skills (including: the ability to insert pivot tables, Vlookup, and conditional formatting, etc.).
* Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles, or experiences.
* Understanding of SAP and navigation.
* Must be able to multi-task in a fast pace environment.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Must have an agile perspective or compliance protocol mandated by regulated industry.
* US citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Professional experience in a regulated industry: to include Aerospace amp; Defense, Insurance, Financial Services, and Telecommunications.
