Whats the role?
As a technical, hands-on Test Engineer, your job is to participate in the manual and automation testing of various web-based vendor applications. You will be under the mentorship of a Test Engineering Manager for a team with an already-established, mature testing process.
Your role will require that you have a strong appreciation and skill in manual/exploratory and automation testing. Time and training is allotted after hiring to learn our automation framework and language of choice Node.js.
Role Responsibilities:
* Setting up test environments, designing test plans, developing and executing test cases/scenarios/use cases.
* Develop test plans for each product release and define test cases to support the test plan.
* Update test process documentation, connect with stakeholders
* Manage testing for releases
* Work with developers to provide additional research and debugging and resolving issues
* Identify risks, track, investigate, and resolve any issues.
* Manage and automate end-to-end(UI/API), regression, ETL, and performance tests.
* Design, implement and maintain cross-platform test automation scripts
Bring Your Best! What this role needs:
* 4+ years of experience with web-based application testing
* 2+ years of professional experience as an Automation Engineer working in an agile environment
* 2+ years of RESTful services testing experience and 2+ years of UI Testing experience
* Experience reviewing business requirements, coordinating with business partners to identify test scenarios, and defect management.
* Solid understanding of writing API tests and execute manual tests with Postman
* Experience with using Fiddler or Wireshark, Postman, Browser DevTools, CLIs. Any similar experience is acceptable for manual testing and analysis needing to be performed in the role.
* Solid understanding of different element locator strategies and the ability to write custom XPath, CSSPath
* Working proficiency of at-least one programming language preferably Node.js.
* Ability and confidence to peer-review code for quality, cleanliness, and general best practices.
* Understanding of Git version control including branch strategy. Familiarity with GitLab, GitLab CI, Docker and Jenkins for CI/CD is helpful but not required.
* Experience using Selenium
* Familiarity with HTML, CSS, REST APIs, JSON, RDBMS, XML/YAML, ETL, Postman.
* Can move quickly and independently. Everyone here is incredibly kind and very willing to share knowledge and a helping hand, but you need to be willing to take ownership of the outlined goals and make things happen.
Education:
* Bachelors degree with an emphasis in Computer Science, Computer Engineering preferred or equivalent experience
