What's the role?

Northwestern Mutual (NM) is looking for a talented marketer that is passionate about helping people succeed in achieving their financial goals. This individual will reinforce the Private Client Groups elite wealth management expertise, effectively showcase their capabilities while equipping the with the ability to attract and retain high-net-worth consumer households. As part of the Premier Practice Field Marketing team, this person will be responsible for driving the development and execution of high-net-worth consumer marketing initiatives as assigned while being a key influencer to client communication and client journey programs.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

* Consumer Marketing Initiatives; Develop, maintain and optimize marketing outputs that support our exclusive sales distribution channel of NMs premier products and services

* Brand Management; Ensure consumer-facing marketing outputs consistently represent NMs elite brand look, feel, voice, personality and promise while delivering the intended prospect/client experience

* Cross-Functional Team Alignment; leverage departmental relationships with Brand, Creative, Corporate Communications and Product Marketing, in addition to Sales and field teams, to ensure alignment with corporate marketing messages, brand standards and style guidelines

* Project Management; Provide project leadership across multiple initiatives, including plan development, timelines, budget management, creative development, implementation and analysis

* Consumer/Field Research; Partner with Insights teams to understand client and field partner needs and pain points, analyze insights to determine root cause, and develop marketing solutions that address challenges, resulting in improved business outcomes

* Process Management/ImprovementMarketing optimization; Own and contribute to the development and implementation of formal processes and guidelines for creating, modifying and maintaining premier marketing outputs while collaborating with key business partners and other teams to evaluate and optimize programs and experiences to improve key business measure

* Bachelors degree with an emphasis in marketing/communications, business or related field

* Minimum six years of proven experience in a professional marketing or communications setting; corporate, agency or financial services industry

* Organization Skills; Demonstrated superior ability to manage multiple complex projects and deadlines in fast-paced, team and independent environments

* Critical Thinking; Demonstrated skills in problem-solving, listening, planning and thought leadership

* Leadership; Ability to negotiate, influence, and build credibility and strong partnerships in matrixed organization across business functions and levels

* Business Communication Skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal collaboration and development of consumer/client communications

* Analytical Skills; Results-driven focus with ability to use data intelligence to influence decisions and refine strategies.

* Creative Management; Proven ability to successfully engage and guide creative teams (may include writers, external consultants, etc.) to plan, conceive, develop and implement marketing communications initiatives

* Customer-Focus Thinking; able to generate strong excitement with new and unique project ideas and programs that keep the client as center focus

* Adaptability; thrives in an environment of ambiguity, innovation and ongoing change
