Cloud IT Infrastructure and Operations Sr Manager

This role is responsible to Cloud Services Director for the delivery of effective cloud support to address business goals and operational/availability requirements. This role will be accountable to:

* support existing PepsiCo cloud solutions,
* support the multiyear cloud transformation journey (2020 -2025), which would include operationalizing the required technology foundations in a hybrid multi-cloud environment, and
* support the on-boarding of new cloud-native solutions for PepsiCo.

Scope Measures:

The team includes ~30 MSP contractors. Provides follow-the-sun governance for cloud services, including 2000+ cloud-based objects currently

Accountabilities:

Manage platform and brokerage service used to provision and manage workloads across our hybrid multi-cloud environments that are highly available
Partner with Service Providers and key stakeholders to provide excellent cloud support
Accountable for defining and implementing cloud systems support process and procedures in a multi-cloud environment
Provide a deep technological understanding of cloud infrastructures, capabilities and security models
Understand and identify cloud-native support model that can be operationalized with an initial small team and scaled up based on demand
Partner with Architects, Compute and Network Engineers to assist in the design, communication and implementation of Strategies, Technology Roadmaps, Standards, Processes and Services
Partner with Information Security and Global Controls organizations to ensure security, audit, SOX and compliance requirements are met across infrastructure services
Partner with Asset Management, Capacity and Performance Management for Global IT Servers, Storage and Automation to assist in establishing a forecast model and anticipate demand across infrastructure services
Support Provisioning and Automation to drive greater Service Delivery maturity
Enable self-service via end-to-end automation to reduce the time for cloud infrastructure service provisioning, raise user satisfaction with self-service functions, maximize developer and app-owner flexibility in consuming cloud services
Provide change governance and change ownership across cloud services
Perform financial forecasting; manage the project and operational budgets
Partner with Architecture and Engineering Leaders to establish criteria and execution
Lead the triage of complex problems as needed to ensure restoration or quality of service and support critical incidents when required
Partner with Risk and Compliance to lead development and ownership of in-scope cloud recovery plans and ensure regular review of DR plans and tests
Provide technical consultation to application teams migrating to public cloud-based on a joint assessment of existing application technology and deployment model
Identify the roles, skills and knowledge required including helping to grow and develop the team through hands-on training and coaching
Generate appropriate communication, process and educational plans for mitigating the disruption of change

Qualifications/Requirements

* Bachelors Degree

Experience:

* 10+ years of related IT business work experience
* 5+ years of cloud services experience

Technical Skills:

Cloud
Preferred: Experience with Configuration, migration and deployment experience related to Azure or AWS IaaS/PaaS Technologies
Experience operating complex multi-datacenter, multi-cluster environment and a strong understanding of multi-tenancy and security
Preferred: Experience with hosting enterprise-class SQL, NoSQL and Big Data DBS
Experience in developing and enforcing governance model for security in the cloud, understanding cloud financials and cost optimization, and overall governance of entire cloud footprint
Experience in implementing new service offerings and developing a support model for new service offerings as a part of project delivery

Automation:
Preferred: Experience in automation/configuration management using Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Saltstack, Bosh, Terraform or an equivalent.
A working understanding of code and script such as: Shell and PowerShell, Python and Perl
Automating Environment builds to support DevSecOps (configuration as code)

Non technical skills:
Capacity management and data center management experience
Strong analytical skills to support problem troubleshooting, resolution, and root cause determination to complex technology issues
Strong documentation skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical personnel
Good collaboration and partnership skills to foster key relationships with other technology, application and business teams
Solid foundation in IT operational concepts and procedures
Requisite skills to influence others in order gain consensus and alignment for key deliverables that span multiple teams and organizations
Vendor management experience

Differentiating competencies required:
Ability to leverage partnership with Managed Service Providers to achieve business goals
Ability to take ownership in orchestrating workshops with IT/Business teams and facilitate interactive sessions on cloud operating models, cloud business value, DevOps processes, and application/infrastructure modernization
Experience in developing business case and TCO analysis drawing tangible connections between strategy and financial-success metrics
Conceptual selling to present recommendations in a simple, compelling, business relevant manner with clear impact analysis
