Position Summary

Perform a variety of machine operations that include hand grinding, process grinding, process saws, hand blast, and CNC turning or milling machines. Perform basic setups; use a variety of measuring devices to include tape measure, micrometer, and caliper; and interpret work instructions and blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Obtain job assignments from supervisor or manager.
Work safely in accordance to plant safety guidelines including cardinal rules of safety.
Adheres to quality processes including inprocess inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
Perform in process inspections both visual and functional. Records inspection data.
Load and unload material.
Perform daily inspection of equipment such as grinders, forklift, overhead cranes, etc.
Complete production reports accurately and timely.
Perform transactions in Quality Management System as applicable.
Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed.
Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition
Perform daily housekeeping / 6S activities as required
Performs other duties as requested by lead, supervisor or manager.

Experience & Education

Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; prior military experience; or technical certification / degree
GED or High School diploma

Required Skills

Basic ability to read and interpret process sheets.
Basic use and interpretation of measuring equipment
Basic understanding of shop mathematics
Basic understanding of grinding tools and material types
Basic understanding of machine functions and setups
Basic trouble shooting skills
Ability to be certified to operate forklift and overhead crane.
Ability to wear a respirator
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government military contracts.
