Summary of Position Duties:
This position is responsible for developing and providing oversight for MPCs system reliability strategy and working closely with both the Northern and Coast Divisions to ensure its successful implementation. Furthermore, this position is responsible for working with various workgroups within CSO to analyze and review system outages to accurately report both PEP and SOCO reliability results on a monthly basis, along with any ad-hoc reliability data requests. This position is responsible for providing responses to regulatory requests and developing presentations and supporting reliability information as requested. The successful candidate will chair the MPC Reliability Committee and provide oversight and direction for company reliability projects based on the projected capital spend for each calendar year while also representing the company on other committees such as the SOCO Reliability Committee and SEE Power Quality and Reliability Committee.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Responsible for developing and providing oversight and direction for MPCs Distribution system reliability strategy.
* Provide direction for Division operations personnel to implement the reliability strategy and support improving system reliability performance.
* Daily monitoring of trouble reports and interaction with the division and customer operations on TCMS corrections and/or updates
* Work with divisions/operations to find methods to enhance the review of outages, TCMS corrections, Consistent Coding, Recurring Trouble, etc
* Prepare timely, thorough, accurate, reports and presentations for PEP and SOCO reliability results
* Chair the MPC Reliability Council to provide oversight and direction for company reliability projects
* Represent MPC on various internal and external committees (SOCO Benchmarking Steering Committee, SOCO Reliability Committee, MPC Reliability Committee, SEE Power Quality and Reliability Committee, etc.)
* Provide engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of reliability problems in the Distribution design area.
* Ensure accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, reporting, and monitoring of the distribution system.
* Strive to continually improve job-related, engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance.
* Develop positive working relationships to effectively communicate company reliability metrics.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science in the following Engineering disciplines from an ABET accredited program: Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil.
* Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles.
* Understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations.
Desired Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
* Demonstrated good understanding of electric utility and facility design standards, specifications and requirements for electrical projects, and the ability to produce construction documents.
* Demonstrated understanding of construction management skills and practices.
* Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new techniques, deal with rapid changes in priorities, and remain calm and effective in stressful situations.
* Demonstrated ability to meet required deadlines while simultaneously completing other tasks.

* Familiarization with TCMS, JETS, DistGIS, CSS, and Microsoft Works Suite
