How will you make an impact?
As a hands-on leader you will manage one of our application software teams focused on workflow and factory automation software for Thermo Fisher's Electron Microscopes targeted at the semiconductor market. If you have a background in developing great software, strong technical ability, great communication skills and can inspire your team to achieve outstanding results, we encourage you to apply.
What will you do?
* The software engineering manager will be responsible for managing the software development activities and direct reports for a highly skilled team of software developers.
* This team builds applications and services to connect our ion and electron beam microscopes to Semiconductor Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
* The team also develops complimentary software for labs that do not have an MES system to optimize their workflow and efficiency.
How will you get here?
Education
University Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline
or an advanced degree is preferred

* Minimum of 2 years of experience as technical lead or as a functional manager
* Excellent interpersonal communications skills required due to the high degree of interaction and collaboration across functional groups
* Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what is necessary to own projects from inception to completion
* Proficiency in C or related programming language
* Preference for leading SEMI compliant Factory Automation software and integration into Semiconductor FABs or experience in adjacent manufacturing execution systems (MES)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
* Collaborate with the Product Management in defining the product vision
* Manage projects that deliver on commitments to internal and external customers
* Manage day-to-day activities of engineering team using Agile/Scrum methodology
* Manage team's resources: hire, mentor, and grow the engineering team
* Work closely with engineers to architect and develop the best technical solution
* Hands-on technical leader
* Report on status of development, quality, and risks to management
