Job Description

This position is responsible for operating trucks and moving trailers in and out of loading areas while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Job Summary:

Must be willing to use a yard truck to transport live haul trailers, reefers, and tankers to and from the production yard/holding area and backing them into the unloading ramps. Must be willing to binding and unbinding live haul cages at shoulder height and above. Must be willing to perform the assigned tasks for periods of 8 hours on concrete floors, shovel, climb stairs and ladders up to 30 feet, bend, stretch, and reach. Must be willing to work on and around machinery, and maintain clean work area by use of soap and high-pressure water hose with 30 pounds of pressure or more. Must be willing to use basic hand tools and perform basic mechanical and maintenance functions, such as Preventative Maintenance (PMs) to equipment and repair live haul cages. Must be willing to document information referent to the position, which will include Tyson Yard/Lot Driver Assessment, oral communication skills, ability to work independently, and must be results oriented and have good problem-solving techniques.

Environmental: Exposed to outside working environment which will include odors.

Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Special Skills Required:

Requires a valid drivers license and forklift certified operator.

Experience: It is preferred that the team member have experience driving a truck with the ability to navigate trailers and forklift experience.

Schedule: Hours per day and days per week will vary.

Internal Candidates: Team Member selected must have no more than 7 points to bid at time position is closed, and at 8 points will be required to return to general production. Team Member selected must have no written warning or written warning w/suspension in the previous 6 months to be considered.

3 to 4 weeks
