Job Description

SUMMARY: This position will work collaboratively in a cross-discipline technical team of engineers and programmers in the development and implementation of control systems for all Tyson Fresh Meats facilities. The candidate will be skilled in manufacturing automation design integration troubleshooting engineering programming and consulting and able to accomplish systems analysis tasks across the Tyson Fresh Meats enterprise; have advanced knowledge of control systems design; be able to complete complex coding requirements within project time constraints; and be willing to support installed control systems for emergency purposes outside of normal business hours and may be on call at times.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems or other technical area preferred or equivalent combination of both.

Experience: 6 plus years of programming experience preferred; with Progress database skills in an AIX environment, script writing in VI editor, C programming, scale data, label printing, label readers, Schneider Electric Unity for M340, M580 and Premium PLC/PACs, Visual Basic, SQL, GE IFix and Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA control systems; capable of making advanced enhancements troubleshooting and testing for existing applications.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience communicating technical information to non-technical team members.

Special Skills: Excellent programming and design skills; average mentoring and leadership skills. experience in the following: analyzing and interpreting information systems proposals, evaluating and developing alternative implementation plans, reviewing and developing coding standards and working productively in a cross functional team advanced knowledge of relevant multi-user computer systems, applications, and/or equipment; knowledge of current technology developments and trends; extensive problem solving skills; experience developing and executing integrated test plans; basic project management capabilities.

Supervisory: May direct team members in project deliverables.

Travel: multiple trips per year; must be willing to travel to job site for investigation and start-up of control systems.
