Responsibilities
Palm Shores is accepting applications for the Lead Mental Health Tech (LMHT). FULL TIME 40 hours on 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm); rotating weekends off.
Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center (PSBHC) is an intensive inpatient psychiatric program for males and females, ages 5 to 17 years old. We offer a highly structured supportive and safe environment for children and adolescents who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, family, and social challenges.
The LMHT performs direct patient care duties in a residential behavioral health setting. The Lead Mental Health Technician is responsible for supervising the patient in treatment, recreation, educational settings, and other activities of daily living to assess changes in their social behaviors and clinical status.
In addition to the precursory duties of a MHT, this position is responsible for the coordination of training and supervision of MHTs on their unit. The Lead MHT works closely with the Nurse to address needs of patients. This individual is also responsible for administrative functions related to the patient's behavioral management system.

* A minimum of 1 year experience with behavioral management of acute child/adolescent individuals required.
* Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent (required). College Degree preferred.
* Additional Requirements: Must be able to read, understand, and follow: policies, procedures, and written treatment plans.
* May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
* Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening and Pre-employment Drug Test.
* Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful completion of Handle with Care prior to assisting with a restraining procedure and within 7 days of employment.
* Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds.
* Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
