Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) provides direct care to children, adolescents and adult patients with psychiatric disorders, to ensure the safety and well-being of the patients. MHTs have the primary responsibility for ensuring the patient's safety on the unit.

Work schedule is 7pm - 7am with 6 shifts in a 2-week period to include every other weekend.

Qualifications

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High School graduate or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field preferred.

Experience:

Prefer experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as a Mental Health Technician working with children, adolescents and/or adults.

License:

NC Driver's License may be required to transport patients to/from appointments, hearings, etc.

Physical requirements:

Medium Work - Exerting 20 - 50 pounds of force occasionally or 10 - 25 pounds of force frequently or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds of force frequently or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of these for light work. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
