Job Description

Job Description

Responsibilities

We are looking to add a clinical staff member to our team with expertise in the area of reproductive mental health.

The candidate that has experience treating cases of postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, and postpartum obsessive-compulsive disorder would be well suited for this program.

Demonstrated experience treating patients after miscarriages, pregnancy losses, and through high-risk pregnancies is required. We willingly treat non-traditional couples with their reproductive mental health issues, thus an openness to treating LGBT patients and couples is expected.

Please see our website www.slbmi.com for more information about SLBMI. Please note that, at this time, all of our services have been converted to telehealth due to COVID-19 pandemic.

We are open to eligible candidates located outside of the St. Louis region who may be interested in joining our team through providing telehealth services. Interested candidates for this option must be licensed in Missouri.

What are the Benefits of joining our team?

Our clinicians enjoy the aspects of being an independent provider that are appealing, while having the administrative and operational support to manage everything else that you need as a provider. As a full-time employee of SLBMI, we offer a centralized intake office that screens and schedules a steady flow of clients for clinicians; an efficient and professionally run billing service; marketing support; assistance in managing managed care, including credentialing, and consultation on practice development. We encourage our clinicians to schedule their practice in ways that allow them to achieve their lifestyle preferences, while still maintaining an active patient caseload and participating in their specialty program needs. We utilize a compensation plan based upon percentage of net cash collections for our clinicians, again allowing our clinicians to have more independence in their practice while earning competitive compensation. Such a model allows for work-life balance, while also providing the ability to earn more if the clinician desires to have a larger caseload.

You would also be part of a multidisciplinary team of over 60 excellent colleagues willing to share their clinical expertise for case consultation, continuing education, and program development. We support our clinicians to further their career through providing opportunities for clinical presentations/speaking opportunities, consultations, research, and continuing education.

SLBMI also provides a comprehensive benefits package, rarely found in private practice, including professional liability insurance. If you believe that your clinical experience is more general in nature and your knowledge base is not as specialized as our programs are structured, you may want to consider speaking with us about our Specialist-in-Training option.

What is the Specialist in Training model option?

The Specialist-in-Training model is housed within a full-time salaried-based plan (benefits-eligible). This is a transition plan for a full-time compensation-based clinical position with SLBMI.

This training salaried model consists of a three to six month period. Generally this time consists of: weekly supervision; assigned reading; didactic sessions to discuss the readings and receive additional education; increased conceptualization in treatment plans reviewed by your supervisor; attendance of open supervision and discussion of other SLBMI programs that may be part of your training time. Other types of activities may be possible which would enhance your skills as a clinician in general, as well as within your specialty area.

The overall goals are:

1) to solidify your knowledge of the scientific, theoretical, and therapeutic approaches to working within your specialty program area,

2) to enhance your ability to perform relevant evaluations and assessments,

3) to effectively apply scientific knowledge within the context of your psychological interventions, and

4) to independently evaluate and provide therapeutic practice for the specific program you are working within.

At the end of the Specialist-in-Training period, you and your supervisor would review your current standing and make a decision whether you should go forward to a full clinical caseload or continue under more limited supervision. Specialist-in-Training applicants are accepted year-round and are based on our current open employment positions available.

Qualifications

Interested applicants must be fully licensed by the Missouri State Committee of Psychologists and credentialed (or credentialed-eligible) on managed care panels in Missouri. Doctorate degree in Psychology is strongly preferred, Master's degree in a psychology-related field (such as an LCSW) will be considered. Please see description for additional job specific requirements.

Please also submit interest letter and CV with your application.
