As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk or Independent Risk Management provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing the most complex activities related to business analysis and/or modeling. Duties may include data aggregation, monitoring and reporting of credit risk data, credit stress testing and portfolio analysis and/or modeling that maximizes profits and/or asset growth and minimizes credit and/or operating losses and other risk exposures. Provides analytical support on Home Lending(HL) retail credit, operating losses and other product strategies to ensure company goals are met; segmenting and monitoring various credit, deposit, and other product groups, vintages, concentration limits, risk ratings, etc. And making recommendations to management based on those trends, producing performance monitoring and benchmarks regarding growth, mix, delinquency, losses and overall profitability and performance, coordinating and consolidating the production or monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for management reviewing and analyzing trends in current population distributions and recommending strategies. May develop complex programming codes to extract data and/or manipulate databases to provide statistical and financial modeling specific to business(es) supported. May partner with cross enterprise risk analysis in development of common model implementation and production strategies. May provide work direction to lower level analyst/consultants. May manage the roll-out of pilot programs developed as a result of programmed models for supported business or product line. May manage large scale cross functional/cross business unit projects and regulatory responses. May be responsible for process production, data reconciliation and model documentation in alignment with policy governance.

The Risk Modeling center of excellence of Wells Fargo is seeking an addition of a Credit Risk Analytics Sr. Associate (CRASA) to our Home Lending Basel Model Implementation and Production team at our Charlotte, NC, Fort Mill, SC, Dallas/Irving/Plano, TX VA, Des Moines, IA, or Minneapolis/Saint Louis Park, MN location.

Our CRASA is responsible for performing the most complex activities related to Home Lending business analysis and/or Credit Risk model implementation and productions. Duties may include, but not limited to:

* Performing monthly ETL data extractions, model scoring and data quality control (DQC) for HL Basel models.
* Data aggregation, monitoring and reporting of credit risk data.
* Supporting new HL Basel model implementations, model production codes testing and model scores DQC codes design and validations.
* Providing analytical support on HL Basel model data. Implementing and developing procedures to ensure data quality for model scoring and analytical reporting
* Proactively monitoring and tracking possible source/derived data issues and making recommendations to management based on analytical results and trends.
* Supporting the teams quarterly productions, model production code modifications/revisions and ad hoc performance analysis and reports.
* Developing and/or validating complex programming codes for data extraction from various data sources.
* Partner with cross enterprise risk and analytical / reporting teams in development of common modeling and reporting strategies.
* Supporting process production, data reconciliation and model documentation in alignment with policy governance
* May provide work direction to lower level analyst/consultants and manage large scale cross functional/cross business unit projects and regulatory responses.

Required Qualifications
* 5+ years of risk reporting experience, risk analytics experience, or a combination of both; or 2+ years of experience in a risk role and a Master's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as statistics, economics, mathematics, operations research, engineering, or business

Desired Qualifications
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* Mortgage industry experience

Other Desired Qualifications
* 5+ years hands on SAS/Python programming expertise in model implementation and reporting
* Strong SAS/Unix/SQL skills and experience using SAS macros
* Extensive experience with mortgage data and good business knowledge
* Experience working with large datasets and performing complex data manipulations in SAS or Python
* Experience working on credit risk data and advanced SQL knowledge
* Ability to work independently, to deliver quality results, and to manage projects to meet deadlines
* Demonstrated strong analytical/quantitative problem solving skills
* Demonstrate ability to work well in team environment, independently and across organizational boundaries
* Knowledge of software development life-cycle and programming/code quality assurance.
* Python/Spark/Hadoop knowledge
