Summary
The Engineering department at Prairie Island is looking to fill one of more Engineer or above positions. Primary responsibility for this role is the Air Operated Valve Program, other responsibilities may include development of plant modifications, calculations, engineering evaluations, operability determinations, maintenance of design basis documents, and resolution of Corrective Action Issues. Additional responsibilities include the review of existing / new design documents, support of continued plant operation, assessment of adverse conditions, engineering analyses, and project management skills.
Responsibilities
* This is an IBEW 949 posting. Responsibilities will be in alignment with Appendix 1, Professional Hierarchy Guidelines, of the 949 Engineering Section Labor Agreement.
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering from an American Board of Engineering Technology (ABET) accredited institution.
* 6+ years of experience
Preferred
* Civil Engineer degree
* Power Plant experience
* Minnesota Professional Engineer License
A condition of employment will be successfully obtaining and maintaining General Security Clearance and a Nuclear Security Clearance for unescorted access to Xcel Energy nuclear Plants including successful completion of Nuclear General Access Training (GAT) and the Nuclear Security screening process (typically consists of an alcohol/drug screen, a criminal history check, a psychological assessment, initial credit and background investigation and periodic credit & criminal history checks).
