Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of the IT Business Analyst is to provide IT leadership, accountability and partnership for our Bioscience Division, Cell and Gene Therapy business teams in order to exceed our business development, customer allegiance, revenue growth and productivity strategies. This consists of understanding the business goals, objectives and requirements; assisting in the prioritization of business technology projects, ensuring that projects align with the technology that best provides maximum return on investment; and linking IT strategy in support of the overall business strategy. The IT BA acts as an advocate for the business and is accountable for ensuring effective delivery and support of initiatives that enable the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the primary point of contact / liaison between Business and IT.
* Understand the strategic business direction to identify technology needs and opportunities.
* Develop comprehensive understanding of the business processes as well as a strong working rapport with business users.
* Works with business to collect and understand business requirements, shape project requests, and facilitate execution.
* Works cross-functionally with global and local IT resources to identify and implement solutions that match the business strategy with the technology strategy.
* Ensure that organizational and business-related priorities are clearly and consistently communicated. Coordinate decision-making and escalations as needed.
* Work cross-functionally to ensure project interdependencies are accounted for and resources able to fulfill demand.
* Maintain security compliance with Thermo Fisher Security Directives
* Remain technically competent with current industry leveraging all available resources
* Other duties apparent or assigned
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in the field of information technology, engineering, computer science and / or business administration.
* 2 years working experience working with a large-scale organization as IT enabler, business analyst or project manager preferably in the Life Sciences industry.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills.
* Proven capability to build trust within the organization and develop strong relationships;
* Prior background working in a matrix organization. Able to influence those over whom they do not have direct control.
* Ability to travel up to 15%
