How will you make an impact?
The Senior Specialist provides planning and support by procuring parts, conducting inventory and asset linkages, SAP CMMS planning and inventory management for the Cambridge and Somerville, MA locations. He/she maintains knowledge of cGMPs, planned, preventative, routine and corrective maintenance and procedures. This position requires good working knowledge of mechanical equipment, ability to build parts kits and provide inventory support for all maintenance activities including collaborating with cross-functionally to support in a fast-paced development and production environment.
What will you do?
* Purchase, receive, and issue inventory based on work order and demand. Coordinates movement of equipment to/from storage. Manages equipment in storage.
* Establishes recommended stock levels and min/max reorder for assets.
* Serves as the SAP inventory expert, updates asset records, links parts to assets, and runs periodic reorders on inventories managed.
* Assists procurement with negotiating pricing of goods with vendors, when possible, tries to procure goods from alternate lower-cost vendors.
* Maintains inventory levels in SAP to prevent stock-outs.
* Provides feedback process improvement for asset and spare parts management.
* Oversees the tracking and issuance of parts against assets and runs reports to analyze use.
* Conducts periodic cycle count analysis and physical inventory count.
* Completes all training requirements and supports compliance.
* May be required to participate in regulatory agency and client audits.
Oversees contractors employed to assist with inventory of spare parts.
How will you get here?
Education:
* High School Diploma with eight (8) years prior industry experience, an associate degree with three (3) years of experience, or a bachelor's degree with two (2) years of prior experience, or equivalent military training, with three (3) years of experience in inventory control.
Experience
* Direct experience supporting cGMP manufacturing facilities, equipment, and utility systems within an FDA/EMA regulated environment is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
* Must possess the ability to read P&IDs and walk systems down to identify equipment spare parts needs.
* Previous experience with CMMS software system(s).
* Ability to work day shifts, occasional overtime, occasional weekends, and be on-call.
* Requires good oral and written communication skills.
* Possess a high-level of proficiency with Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
* Must work well in a team environment as well as possess the ability to work independently without supervision.
