Skunk Works is an integral part of Lockheed's Aeronautics business area responsible for advanced systems development including conceptual design and rapid prototyping of clean sheet solutions and improvements and derivatives to existing systems. As a member you will support ME tasks associated with product development through standing up a low-rate production product line.
A successful candidate will be an experienced professional with a demonstrated history of success in Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related disciplines. This team member will be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently and execute tasks under general direction, and the job will require multi-tasking and active engagement in the Production environment. This engineer will serve as an interface between the Production organization and the Engineering community, ensuring that released engineering packages are producible and can be integrated into the Production environment. He or she will understand process improvement and technology insertion to improve the build process through Producibility and Cost Reduction initiatives. And will work in support of Production mechanics and supervisors looking for opportunities to improve the build processes, eliminate repetitive defects and drive out unnecessary cost.
You will work with a great team of engineers, with ample hands-on opportunities, project management and engineering coordination tasks, and have a direct impact on program success.
Summary of Key Duties for this position:
You provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements we use to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques
You ensure process and procedures we use comply with applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory guidance
You design sequence of operations and specific procedures that affect product build
You provide manufacturing producibility analysis for machined mechanical and composite details and assembly operations
You will be a Manufacturing Team member who will develop the manufacturing deliverables such as tooling concepts and fixtures, manufacturing work instructions, technician process instructions and manufacturing bills of material
You may incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan
You will collaborate with shop supervision, technicians, MRP controllers, production leads, and program individuals
You will need to be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule where business needs may require occasional second shift and weekend support

Basic Qualifications:
Experience working with engineering blueprints & process specifications
Experience with tooling, machining or fabrication
Manufacturing experience in metallic, non-metallic, electrical, assembly and installations
Desired Skills:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Manufacturing Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
Assembly/Build Floor support experience
Problem Solving Skills - Demonstrated ability to drive issues to closure and develop workaround plans or corrective action plans
Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and cross functional teams; Production, IT, Facilities, Planning and Engineering
Robust MS Office skill set
AutoCAD or Catia V5 experience
Experience with lean manufacturing and process improvement
Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (ERP4C or SAP) in a manufacturing/production environment
