Branded Art Direction Designer:

Our Interior Component Design department is looking for a highly creative UX designer with a passion for creating and Art Directing brand visions in the automotive space. We want someone with a rich aesthetic style that understands the balance of form and function and how to create an elegant balance between digital content and physical controls. The ideal candidate will have experience sketching, iterating, concepting, and producing brand specific digital user interfaces for in-vehicle experiences. We need visionary designers to help us drive our brands interior experiences forward.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team of designers from the Branded studios as well as from our core component group to synthesize Design and functional needs into our next generation of in-vehicle user interfaces and controls. You will set the tone for the Branded Component interface and foster that vision from concept all the way to production.

Responsibilities:

* You help build a compelling brand UX vision and art direct its implementation.
* You will be the point person working collaboratively with the UI group, the Component Design team, and the Branded Production Design Studios. Creating a vision for the brand that embodies the best user experience utilizing all digital and physical interfaces.
* Deliverables will include sketches, drawings, low-resolution prototypes, quick wireframe models, storyboards and any other medium you feel will be effective.
* Conduct Design critiques that will guide major design decisions.
* Collaborate closely with senior team members to craft a world-class user experience across all our products and platforms.
* Balance user needs, technical constraints, and business objectives to solve problems effectively.
* Art Direction of Branded UI look and feel.
* Strategize with key stakeholders to brainstorm and identify opportunities.
* Act as the voice of design for the team and stakeholders alike.

Qualifications

Requirements:

* 2+ years experience working within the User-Experience and/or interior product design area.
* Experience in ADVANCED visual design principles and practices.
* Candidate must provide a strong portfolio with work samples showcasing UX expertise, interaction design, product design, creativity, and depth of thought.
* Ability to exercise strong design judgment.
* Ability to see differences and needs of GM brands as it relates to the customer experience
* Ability to communicate across a wide range of media. (3D, 2D, prototype, animation)

Desired Skills:

* Passionate about customer experience
* Deep understanding of the global landscape in this space.
* Outside interests aligned with the Tech and automotive industry.
* Solid understanding of technology and the product development lifecycle.
* Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills.
* Strong presentation skills or ability to present and defend design work.
* Previous automotive experience desired.
