Job Summary:

This role is in the Customs Compliance Operations team under the Trade Management Segment. The Customs Compliance Operations team manages the flow of information for Customs entry matters, focused around product tariff number and ECCN classifications as well as valuation.

Analyst will assist the Operations Manager in all aspects of Customs entry activities, including Customs documentation related entry declaration issues.

Responsibilities:

* Work with the Customs Specialists team to determine daily efforts needed to complete tariff classification requests for both Import (US HTS) and Exports (ECCN). (Ensure tariffs reason for classification are ALWAYS notated)
* Manage classification sessions/meetings and team operations meetings with Internal and/or External Partners.
* Periodically evaluate work flow with internal and external partners and identify improvements
* Periodically analyze teams operating procedures, identify improvements, create and innovate, and deliver training for the operations team.
* Prepare and present KPI/Metrics reporting and discuss with the manager
* Take the lead in planning, execution and innovation of IMPORT and EXPORT operations processes

Basic Qualifications:

* Extensive knowledge on tariff classification for both Import and export in general merchandise (Industrial and mechanical knowledge such as: Marine industry equipment and parts, General constructions materials and food industry equipment are highly welcomed)
* This role requires strong knowledge in ECCN designation process
* Able to multi-task and work in a fast pace environment.
* Communication skills both, written and oral, are a must since work requires interaction with others.
* Self-motivated, driven and resilient
* Must be able to work in a limited supervised environment, able to work with minimal directions. This position is geared to guide and assists others therefore, must develop own suggestions and solutions.
* Assignments are relatively complex and allow independent judgment and decision making. Provides considerable input in establishing the objectives for their area of responsibility. Work is reviewed in terms of meeting the organizational objectives and schedules.

Required Education

* College Degree or Licensed Customs Broker or at least 10 years experience equivalent in Import/Export - Customs Broker related environment handling daily operations is a must.
* Computer savvy with extensive knowledge on Microsoft Office (eg; EXCEL, TEAMS) or any other business software applications such as TABLEAU, QUESTAWEB are welcomed.
