Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

* Operating and maintaining a Central Utility plant(s) that includes:
* Biomass (wood chip) and gas fired boilers
* Steam Turbine
* Process and HVAC Chillers
* Cooling Towers
* Air Compressors and Air Dryers to produce Pharmaceutical Grade Air
* Process Waste pH neutralization
* Process and Sanitary Waste Sumps
* Diesel Generators
* Monitoring Alarms for process and storage operations
* Performing Preventative, Predictive and/or Corrective maintenance activities on equipment in support of the continuous operation of the Central Utility plant and ancillary equipment
* Performing equipment / building rounds at prescribed intervals to verify safe operation, process variables, operating conditions, etc.
* Operating and utilizing Control systems including BMS, delta V and PLC.
* Cross training/skills development in GMP focused operations including Clean Utilities, GMP processing equipment/areas, Quality Control and other functional areas that support GMP operations
* Position requires specialized skills and knowledge which includes operation of Clean Utility equipment; RO skids, WFI stills and Clean Steam Generators. Addition skills desired include electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, pipe fitting, welding, etc.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

* Safe and compliant operation of Plant Utility systems
* Leading/participating in shift turnover/handoff
* Completing required GMP documentation utilized in the Alarm Monitoring operation
* Initiating Corrective CMMS work orders for equipment/areas in need of unscheduled maintenance/repair, housekeeping, etc.
* Documenting all work using electronic work orders in site CMMS and relevant equipment logs
* Troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues in a timely manner utilizing DMAIC techniques
* Reading and following equipment schematics, logic diagrams and engineering drawings
* Performing duties in a safe manner with a focus on Zero Injuries
* Leading and/or participating in continuous improvement activities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Minimum of AAS degree in electrical, electronics, instrumentation, industrial technology or related field of study OR a HS diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of experience working in a central utility operation or in a related technical role.
* Ability to perform PM, PdM and Corrective Maintenance. Will also assist in identifying and correcting operational issues as well as developing operational skills.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

* Position requirements are typical for a manufacturing plant-based work environment with significant shop floor exposure.
* Routine lifting, sitting, standing, walking and bending is required.
* Specific PPE requirements are frequently required.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

* Schedule is a rotating 12-hour shift that includes night, weekend and holiday work. Alternative work schedules may be required to support operations or specific project-related activities. This position is also classified as essential to operations during periods of inclement weather, etc.
