Freelance Photo Editor
Location: New York, NY
The-Sun.com is looking for news and showbiz obsessed photo editors to join our New York team! This position is based in the New York office. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker, collaborative team member, who thrives in a fast-paced digital news environment; is organized, has Photoshop experience, and is able to juggle multiple projects. Additionally, the ideal candidate has excellent visual storytelling instincts, research and communication skills, and contacts in the industry.
Requirements:
Flexibility regarding shifts. Must be able to work evenings and weekends Experience using a picture management system
Experience with comprehensive research on news events, both past and present, as well as a strong passion for journalism
Understanding of usage rights and experience in negotiating image fees Knowledge of general news, as well as entertainment news
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Knowledge of Photoshop
Applicant must have photo editing experience
Applicant would preferably have picture agency, or news website experience
