As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) in Facebooks FRL for Portal, you'll ensure the delivery of world class product quality for our software, hardware and product platforms. In this role, you will be embedded in Portal Engineering teams and accountable for driving Quality Engineering throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). You are responsible for implementing reliable and scalable automation solutions using out of box thinking, delivering high quality consumer electronics user experiences. The right candidate will possess hands-on automation technical background, is meticulous about SW quality, and has demonstrated capability on building test automation framework, infrastructure, tooling, test fixtures and tests.

Software Development Engineer in Test, Portal Responsibilities

* Design, build, and maintain test automation solutions that are robust and scalable

* Deliver automation tests to touch various SW components and complete HW stack to identify bugs

* Deliver device automation, including developing, triaging, maintaining tests and results reporting mechanisms

* Enable and drive Engineering teams to build automation at scale

* Implement better engineering solutions to increase automation code effectiveness and framework flexibility to enable cross-functional teams automation needs

* Create prototypes and work with cross-functional partners for new innovative automation methodologies and technologies

* Be the advocate for testability, drive best engineering practices and defect prevention

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience

* 5+ years of relevant experience in automation development role

* Familiar with various tools or infrastructure used in automation

* Experience in Android/Python/C++/Java development

* Experience on iOS UI testing automation (XCTest/XCUITest)

* Collaboration experience with cross-functional teams to define automation solution for new features

* Experience multi-tasking and adapting to change

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in embedded device programming environment, such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi

* Experience building and launching consumer electronics products

* Proficient understanding of automation methodologies & practice
