The Director of Solutions Architecture, Cloud Management & Cloud Health, Enterprise & Global is responsible for leading a team of solutions architect managers and individual contributors in supporting VMwares Cloud Management & Cloud Health business reporting to the overall SE leader for Cloud Management and Cloud Health Americas. The Director will be responsible for the coordination of strategic development of resources within the Cloud Management & Cloud Health organization across the a region supporting the Enteprise and Global segment, including approval of training plans, career development planning, conducting annual performance reviews, and coaching/counseling SA managers and SA's for their professional growth. This also includes account management activities that may include development of account strategy, high-level presentations, problem resolution, relationship development, and coordination of corporate resource involvement supporting the VMware Cloud Health & Management business.

Responsibilities:

To develop and lead a team of VMware Cloud Management & Cloud Health technical specialists that can gain customer confidence and promote the success of the VMware Cloud Management & Cloud Health sales organization, the Director of Solutions Architecture, Cloud Management & Cloud Health, focusing on Enterprise & Global, must be able to manage technical assets with consideration for sales success as well as financial effectiveness. This individual must be able to hire, motivate, develop, and retain quality Solution Architecture leaders and SAs who are capable of continuing and enhancing VMware's success in best serving VMware's growing Cloud business. It is expected that the Director of Solutions Architecture, Cloud Management & Cloud Health, will take a prominent role in evangelizing VMwares vision and message as it pertains to the VMware Cloud Management & Cloud Health business both internally as well as externally to appropriate constituents.

Main Duties:

* Coordination of strategic development of VMware Cloud Management & Cloud Health resources within a region supporting the Enterprise & Global SA team, including approval of training plans, career development planning, conducting annual performance reviews, coaching/counseling SA managers and SA's for their professional growth including motivating, developing and retention.

* Review of resource utilization, planning for specialized coverage of all major sales activity areas and review of the resource matching process.

* Participation in regular territory reviews with regional sales directors resulting in a detailed understanding of the top deals in each region. Account management activities may include development of account strategy, high-level presentations, problem resolution, relationship development, and coordination of corporate resource involvement with the top five prospects within the region.

* Direction of the SA Team Leaders and other SAs within the region, and development of long-term coverage plans for the SA region.

* Additional responsibilities include development of relationships with other organizations inside VMware as well as maintaining current knowledge of both corporate and industry direction.

* Recruiting and hiring of SA's to fill staffing requirements.

* Cloud Management Business Unit & Cloud Health Business Unit leaders as well as other BU leaders.

* VMware Cloud Management & Cloud Health Product Managers, Technical Marketing Managers and Product Marketing Managers.

* Professional Services Organization leaders.

* Other in-region and external GEO SA teams.

Required Skills:

* Demonstrated leadership of managers & Demonstrated Solutions Architecture management experience.

* Technical sales or consulting skills are essential as well as sound negotiation skills.

* Relationship building skills can establish positive internal relationships with colleagues and management peers

* Offering development experience (direct or leading).

* Demonstrated proficiency as a leader of individual contributors in a professional environment.

* Strong people management skills including hiring, developing, motivating and retaining technical salespeople and an ability to manage any performance shortfall.

* Strong verbal and written communications skills as well as excellent presentation skills.

* Strong experience with VMwares IT automation and configuration management solutions such as vRealize Automation and Operations, vRealize Cloud. Additional experience with solutions such as Turbonomics, vCenter Orchestrator, Jenkins, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Openstack, Salt, Docker, Github, Kubernetes important.

* Strong understanding of ITSM eco-systems and prominent solutions within them, such as DataDog, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, New Relic, ServiceNow, AlertLogic will be important.

* Strong experience enabling companies to transform themselves using the public cloud and the service offerings using AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle or equivalent clouds, and datacenter experience with knowledge of hypervisors like VMware.

* Demonstrates high ethics and integrity for which also possesses strong relationship building skills both with customers and VMware colleagues.

* A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, related field or equivalent experience.

* Post COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, possibility to travel potentially up to 40%.
