IT Data Center Operations Senior Advisor

What youll achieve

As a Senior Advisor, IT Data Center Operations on the IT Service Delivery team, you will provide operational support to customers and end users of the infrastructure service. Some of the tasks you will be responsible for:

You will:

* Perform IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging and implementation of applications programs supporting company business processes and operations.

* Provide operational support for systems hardware, peripherals and software within data centers and related facilities.

* Identify, isolate and resolve problems.

* Work in conjunction with the technical support staff to implement immediate resolutions to more critical problems.

* Monitor and manage systems consoles for the following: problems, systems availability, production scheduling and control, reports distribution, service level support, administration and controls, equipment operation, backup recovery, procedural documentation and execution of the disaster recovery plan.

* Communicate provisions of data center policies and standards internally and facilitate customer understanding of processes and procedures

* Plan and coordinate with various cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure present and future capacity/scalability

* Oversee the coordination of data center space allocation and layout

* Team/project leader on one or more initiatives or projects

* Assume a leadership role in developing and applying new approaches to data center management

* Involved in developing, modifying and executing data center policies, processes and standards that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect

* Participate in forecasting department's budgetary needs and in maintaining financials

* Arrange for or provide training to staff

* Evaluate implemented solutions and practices, identify opportunities and recommend solutions for continuous improvements

* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of information systems technology and disseminate that knowledge to the organization

Essential Requirements

* Must be a US Person

* In depth understanding of data center infrastructure optimization techniques such as Computation Fluid Dynamic's (CFD)

* Knowledge of data science and big data analytics

* Advanced knowledge of production processes and data center infrastructure

* Excellent understanding of all IT hardware

* Able to effectively convey technical aspects to senior leadership and/or customers

* Good understanding of industry standards, best practices and emerging technologies

* Ability to prioritize projects and/or deliverables

* Ability to work effectively with senior management

* Thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical critical systems components

* Thorough understanding of all IT hardware

* Ability to lead, motivate and direct a workgroup

* Wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected

* Excellent knowledge of change management methodologies.

* Experience Required: minimum 8 years of relevant technical experience and Bachelors in a technical field

* Availability to work varying shift schedules based on customer and service provider needs

* Minimal travel may be required with overnight stays

Desirable Requirements

* ITIL V4 Certification
