- BUSINESS ACUMEN & PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE (~40%)
* Utilize reports and systems to create hindsight decks and specialized business reports
* Lead business take-aways and deep dives to support new strategy development or improve existing ones
* Manage SBU cost tools, analyze margin & deliver revenue goals based on financial plans
- PRODUCT MANAGEMENT (~40%)
* Pro-actively manage the Corporate and product calendar - hitting key milestone meeting deliverables and deadlines
* Manage FlexPLM inputs, product hang/fold codes, & packaging - ensuring data input in accurate & up to date
* Partner with manager and cross functional teams to develop brand strategies to fit the needs of all channels (stores, eCommerce, wholesale, & international)
* Partner with Carters design, technical design, art & PDC teams to balance make & value across the assortment
* Own sample management, closet organization, and presentation set up
* Communicate product changes and updates to cross functional teams
- FORECASTING & TREND (~10%)
* Develop strong understanding of the marketplace; recognizing trends & how they relate to our brand
* Maintain awareness of the competition understanding flow cadence, product assortment & make/value equation
* Utilize past knowledge (fashion & analytical) plus current trends to develop new strategies &/or opportunities
* Own preparation for competitive review
- PRESENTATIONS (~10%)
* Present initial creative & actual product to retail & wholesale partners (creative freezes, channel partner handoff, sales meeting, etc.)
* Deliver selling recaps to cross-functional teams
Experience and Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong product knowledge and presentation skills
- Detail oriented and organized
- Ability to manage and prioritize workload
- 2-4 years fashion merchandising, retail sales, or buying experience
- Strong knowledge of retail metrics in order to effectively analyze results across channels and markets
- Bachelors degree required
- Potential travel for market knowledge / competitive landscape
- Sample management, sample check-in, sample closet management, presentation setup and clean up
