Zions Bancorporation is currently looking for an experienced and passionate Software Engineer who understands data, to help us with our Digital Transformation. The Data Engineering team is responsible for ingesting and processing terabytes of data a day to make quick and accurate business decisions in various domains including fraud, cybersecurity, and marketing. Responsibilities:
* Design and Develop reusable components to ensure a highly available distributed system to extract, process and load (ETL) data from disparate sources across the organization
* Apply traditional software practices to data engineering including automated processes to meet regulatory and business requirements, designing flexible systems, software testing and test automation, and CI/CD integration.
* Work with Data Science, Fraud Analytics, and Information Security teams to build and deploy scalable Machine Learning models to production
* Build real-time analytics integrations with state-of-the-art digital banking systems
* Provide clear documentation on design decision and workflows
* Gather business requirements and propose robust and scalable solutions
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
* 4+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer, Software Developer or related field to build tools to compose and manage real-time data pipelines for very large datasets
* Strong knowledge of various programming languages like Python, Java, Ruby or R, as well as scheduling and orchestration tools and processes
* Experience with UNIX/Linux
* Experience developing stream-based data pipelines like Kafka, Spark
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience designing and building software solutions that are flexible, manageable, and performant; Python preferred
* Experience utilizing statistics and predictive analytics to create innovative solutions to business problems
* Experience with the ETL/ELT toolsets including Spark, Hive, and Kafka
* Advanced analytical, organizational and problem-solving skill
* Ability to work independently and collaborate with others at all levels of technical understanding
* Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with both technical and non-technical staff
